Good People

As funny as it may sound, I met a wonderful person online a couple days ago. I almost want to say that it happened by chance but I know better, it happened by law. I believe it is because of my new way of thinking, my new direction. I can honestly say that the law of attraction is real and it is working in my life for the better.

Darian is the man’s name. I won’t give his whole name because that’s not my place to decide, so we’ll just stick with his first name for this post. Here is the story on how I met this man.

I know that for ALOTA people it is hard to believe that BELIEF is as powerful as some say. I’m sure you’ve heard of THE SECRET, or THE POWER OF BELIEF, or the LAW OF ATTRACTION, or something along those lines. Based on my experience, it seems to me that most people I have talked with in the past about these subjects are in disbelief. I believe that most people misinterpret these subjects and over-exaggerate the principals. For example, THE SECRET focuses on the law of attraction and many of the speakers in THE SECRET talk about “manifesting” whatever you want into your life. Here is where the misinterpretation comes into play. Most people I’ve talked with interpret this to mean that there is some magical force, that if you believe strong enough that you can literally snap your fingers and your wildest dreams will come into form, and since we all know that doesn’t work, most people dismiss THE SECRET altogether. Well, this interpretation is definitely a misinterpretation.

What the speakers in THE SECRET mean is that if you believe in something strong enough, you will naturally do everything necessary to achieve it. They also mean that if you carry and project positive thoughts, you will produce and project positive vibrations, which will in-turn, attract those same types of vibrations back to you. What this means is that if you focus on happiness and you project happy & positive vibes, you will naturally begin to attract happy & positive people into your life.

This theory is far from make-believe. This theory is 100% true and I am living proof of it. I have experienced the affect of this principal more & more over the last few months since I decided to take my life down a better, more positive path. I own most of my thanks to my wonderful cousin Shelly. She is the one that pointed me in this direction. Without her influence I may have never chosen this path… What a shame that would’ve been.

So onto how I met Darian. I haven’t had the opportunity to meet him face to face just yet but I will in time. Two weeks ago I took a quick weekend vacation by myself to Las Vegas to visit my cousin Shelly & her fiancé Pete. Upon my arrival I was greeted by my cousin Shelly who had one of the brightest smiles I had seen in a long time. What a joy it was to see her. Over the course of the weekend I was enveloped by an energy that I hadn’t felt in a very long time, if ever. I can honestly say that for the three days that I was in Las Vegas I didn’t experience one negative thought or emotion. Yea, it helped that I was spoiled while I was there but that wasn’t why I was so happy. I was surrounded with positive energy, more positive energy that I have ever been around. I felt amazing! I felt like I could have accomplished anything… ANYTHING! As Shelly drove me around town showing me the city of Las Vegas I couldn’t help but notice how many fitness centers and MMA gyms there were. That is what changed me. I realized at that point that Las Vegas is the center of my passion. My passions in life are MMA & fitness. Obviously Las Vegas has held claim to being the MMA capital since the UFC was purchased by Zuffa in 2001, and there was more than enough fitness centers for me to get involved in as well. Since returning from my trip to Las Vegas I have been researching the economy of Las Vegas, the fitness industry, the housing market, etc. I looked around on Facebook for some fitness groups in Las Vegas and found several. I saw one group that really stood out to me so I joined it. That same day I received a message from that group (from Darian, who heads that group) informing all the group members of health related job opportunities in Las Vegas. In four days I received four messages, each one listing at least one job opening in Las Vegas. I then went on to search MeetUp.com for groups of like-minded individuals in Las Vegas so that I could possibly develop some relationships before moving out there. I joined a few groups to get updates, and shortly after signing up a gentleman named Adam welcomed me to the group. (Please notice that at this point I had already started attracting the positivity that I was projecting). I was greeted with a warm welcome to the group so I became interested in learning more about the man that welcomed me. I researched his profile on Facebook and in doing so I noticed a picture in which Adam was standing next to Darian, and the picture’s caption talked highly of Darian. It was then that I decided to reach out to Darian to simply let him know that I appreciated his energy, his positivity, his generosity, and his smile. Within fifteen minutes of sending that message to Darian he replied. We went back & forth through Facebook messages for the day and I learned a wealth of information about Darian. His resume was impressive, his sincerity was obvious, and his generosity towards others was incredible. I explained to him that I was thinking of moving to Las Vegas in the near future, that I was looking for a job in the fitness industry, and he said he would love to help me get settled in and help me find a job once I got out there. Since that day, Darian & I have corresponded via facebook a few times and each time I get the same energy, nothing by positivity. In my life up to this point it is rare that I meet people that are so genuine, generous, and sincere. Lately, however, since I’ve changed my outlook on life to a more positive tone, that same energy has been flowing right back into my life. I’ve met more good people, seen more smiles, and heard more laughter than I had in the last several years combined. The funny part is the fact that those smiles, those laughs, and those people have always been there, I just wasn’t noticing them and I wasn’t attracting them into my life. So for those who doubt the power of belief, the power of mindset, or the power of positive thinking please take my advice… It is real. It’s not magic, it is law. Like attracts like. If you focus on smiling more often you will begin to see many more smiles than you are used to. If you focus on being happy, you will notice more happiness among others than you did before. Whatever you focus on grows, so focus on your dreams and they will begin to take form, to manifest in your life. “What a wonderful human being” I say about Darian. Although I haven’t met him face to face yet, and although I don’t know him well, I can say that his energy has had such a great impact on my life over the last few days that I personally feel that I owe him that in return, and hopefully I will get the chance to do exactly that in the near future. “A mind at peace, a mind centered and not focused on harming others, is stronger than any physical force in the universe”. – Wayne Dyer You can learn more about Darian by visiting his blog at http://doctordarian.blogspot.com

A.O.M.A.

You’re probably wondering what A.O.M.A. means and why I titled this post with it. A.O.M.A. means “all out massive action” and that is what I am taking every day in order to achieve my goals.

In just the last three months, since March 1st to be exact, I have made a number of drastic changes in my life. The first change I made actually came a few weeks prior to March 1st when I finally quit chewing my fingernails after twenty-five years of obsessive nervous nail biting. That change was huge for me as I had tried to stop chewing my fingernails several times in the past but was never successful, but with the help of Tony Robbins I was able to finally break the habit.

The next set of changes took place on March 1st (well, February 27th to be completely honest). February 27th was the last day that I drank any alcohol or smoked a cigarette. Those two changes alone have been incredible for me. I smoked cigarettes since I was about 14 or 15 years old, at a point in my life I was smoking a pack a day. Later in my life, around the age of 23, I started drinking alcohol regularly. Since quitting both of those habits my body has begun to feel like a different body altogether.

Along my new path I have also cut way back on the amount of TV I watch. Actually, I recently disconnected my cable and hooked our computer up to our TV so now we use Hulu & Netflix primarily as our main source of TV entertainment. I decided to cut back on TV and replace that wasted time with productivity. Whether I’m doing work around the house, researching new knowledge & ideas on the internet, or reading books to further my personal development, I’m much happier and much more fulfilled now than I was three months ago.

I’ve also cut way back on the amount of music I listen to. Nowadays if I am in my car I am listening to informative audio of some sort. My playlist of informative audio consists of Tony Robbins, Wayne Dyer, Dale Carnegie, James Ray, and others that share the same ideology. I also listen to these authors at work as well, as I sit in front of my computer and crunch numbers all day. Instead of listening to the same songs I heard the day before, I now listen to these incredible authors and the knowledge I’ve gained in this short time has already proven to be extremely powerful.

I’ve also started learning Spanish as well. I have committed myself to spending at least 15 minutes per day (sometimes more but at least 15 minutes per day) studying Spanish. I’ve only been doing this now for about a week but so far I feel like I’m doing well. If I keep it up, I should be fairly comfortable communicating in Spanish within a year from now. It’s also quite fun!

There are more changes to come very soon. This is just the start. A.O.M.A.! I repeat it to myself daily & I have already begun to utilize my personal power. Check back frequently as I will soon start posting my goals publicly so that all of my readers can then hold me accountable, which should make for some added pressure on me to enhance my drive & determination. A.O.M.A. is the secret to achieving success & fulfillment. No matter what your current circumstances are, the journey of a thousand miles begins with one step, so why not take that first step today?
